Angela NiederlohAcclaimed by The New York Times as “a charismatic mezzo soprano”, Angela Niederloh was last seen as Angelina in La Cenerentola, Guinone in La Calisto, Melibea in Il viaggio a Rheims and Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte with Portland Opera. Other recent engagement include Cosi fan tutte with Portland Opera, Handel’s Messiah with Portland Baroque Orchestra, recording project with the Naxos Label and Music of Remembrance and the World Premier of Michael Valenti’s Story of an Hour with Portland Chamber Orchestra. In 2011, Ms. Niederloh will perform Mahler’s Rückert Lieder with the Olympia Symphony Orchestra.

A recent participant in the Houston Grand Opera Studio, Ms. Niederloh was last seen as Meg Page in Falstaff, Karolka in Jenůfa and Second Lady in Die Zauberflöte. Other engagements for the American artist include Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte with the San Francisco Opera Center, The Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors at Opera Omaha, Annio in La Clemenza di Tito and Mrs. Slender in Salieri’s Falstaff at Wolf Trap Opera. Equally at home on the concert stage, Ms. Niederloh’s solo credit’s include performances with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, San Francisco Opera Orchestra, Music of Remembrance, Camarata Pacifica, Oregon Symphony, Boston Baroque Orchestra, Olympia Symphony Orchestra, New York Festival of Song, Aspen Festival Orchestra, Portland Baroque Orchestra, Columbia Symphony, Choral Arts Ensemble and Choral Crossties.

Ms. Niederloh is an active participant in many of the nation’s most respected competitions. She was recently a National Finalist in Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, winner and audience favorite in the Eleanor Lieber Award Competition, second place in the MacAllister Vocal Competition, second place in the Dallas Opera Guild Vocal Competition and finalist in the McCollum Vocal Competition.
