Tenor
As a young artist in the Placidó Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program with the Washington National Opera, tenor Gregory Warren performed many roles including Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore and Gherardo in Gianni Schicchi. In spring 2007 he was heard as Tonio in La Fille du Regiment, was the First Jew in the National Symphony Orchestra's Salome with soprano Deborah Voigt, was tenor soloist in Beethoven's Symphony No.9 with the Ft. Worth Symphony, and was Tamino in Die Zauberflöte for the New Jersey Opera Theater In the 2007-2008 season Mr. Warren made his debut at the LA Opera as Rodrigo in Verdi's Otello, followed by the Young Sailor in Tristan und Isolde, and his return to the Washington Opera in the role of Mike in A View from the Bridge.
Mr. Warren opened the 2008-2009 season in Saint Gallen, Switzerland as Cecco in Haydn’s I mondo della luna, and joined the ensemble of the Deutsche Oper Berlin for various roles, including Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, and made his VARA debut in Amsterdam in The Tempest and Guillaume Tell. In 2009-2010 season he returned to Deutsche Oper for roles including Tamino in Das Marchen von der Zauberflöte, Mime in Klein-Siegfried, and Steuermann in Der Fliegende Holländer. He maked his Theatre Rostock debut as Alfredo in La Traviata and his Netherlands Opera debut as Iopas in Les Troyens.
Mr. Warren was an apprentice artist with the Santa Fe Opera. He has also been an apprentice artist with the opera companies of Cedar Rapids and El Paso. He has performed with Shreveport Opera, Longview Opera, Palm Beach Opera and El Paso Opera.
Mr. Warren was a finalist in several competitions including the Houston Grand Opera, the Marguerite McCammon Competition, Palm Beach Opera Vocal Competition and the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Mr. Warren holds degrees from Texas Tech University and the Centenary College of Louisiana. While in the Domingo-Cafritz program he covered mainstage performances as Ferrando in Così fan tutte and Stingo in the national debut of Nicholar Maw’s Sophie’s Choice.
