Mission Statement
The Elardo International Opera Competition has been established to identify exceptionally talented opera singers and to assist them in the final stages of their career development through financial support, managerial assistance, and performance opportunities.
The Elardo International Opera Competition, supports young opera singers through cash prizes and management awards totaling over $100,000.00 annually. Over 650 young singers have taken part in the competition since it’s establishment in 2004. Past finalists have gone on to perform in the world’s leading opera houses and concert halls. Singers that advance to the final round of the competition will be presented in concert with the Charlemagne Orchestra in Burgge Belgium on
July 19, 2008.
Elardo Grand Prize:
The Elardo Grand Prize is a cash award.

Intermezzo Foundation Award:
The Intermezzo Foundation Award is a cash award given in honor of the legendary tenor Luciano Pavarotti.
15,000 USD
Beverly Sills Award:
The Beverly Sills Award is a cash award given in honor of the great American soprano.
5,000 USD
Regine Crespin Award:
The Regine Crespin Award is a cash award given in honor of the great French soprano.

Astrid Varnay Award:
The Astrid Varnay Award is a cash award given in honor of the great Swedish soprano.

Jerry Hadley Award:
The Jerry Hadley Award is a cash award given in honor of the great American tenor.

Intermezzo Foundation Encouragement Awards:
The Intermezzo Foundation will provide a minimum of 10 awards for tuition scholarships for the 2008 Intermezzo Young Artist Program, which will be held in Brugge from July 2 – August 2, 2008. These recipients will have the opportunity to sing a leading role as part of the 2008 Intermezzo Opera Festival with the Charlemagne Orchestra.

Finalists Prize:
Contestants that are invited to sing on the Finalists Concert will receive a minimum prize of 1,000 USD.
Wolf-Piper Artists International Award:
Management awards will be provided through Wolf-Piper Artists International for singers who demonstrate an ability to succeed on the International opera and concert stage.
