The Intermezzo Foundation supports performing artists through Young Artist Programs, the Elardo International Opera Competition and Wolf-Piper Artists International, managing opera singers, directors and conductors from around the globe. Established in 2001 the Foundation now has offices in New York, Boston and Brussels. The Foundations founder, Mitchell Piper has had an extensive career both as a performer, producer and educator and is now Chairman of the Foundation.
Intermezzo’s Young Artist Programs offer vocal, theatrical and linguistic training to over 100 young singers each year. Participants perform in fully staged operatic productions, vocal recitals and master classes and receive daily vocal lessons, repertoire coachings, language classes and managerial workshops. Since our establishment in 2001 Intermezzo has produced over 20 fully staged operas and has provided over 400 young artists more than $500,000.00 in scholarships, awards and grants. Young Artist Programs were first established in Windsor, Connecticut and have continued to serve performing artists in various locations throughout the US including Hartford, Connecticut, West Palm Beach and Tampa, Florida. Our 2008 Intermezzo Opera Festival in Brugge Belgium will introduce these acclaimed programs into the European market. >>LEARN MORE
