Intermezzo supports performing artists through the Intermezzo Young Artist Program, and Intermezzo Artists Management, managing opera singers, directors and conductors from around the globe. Established in 2000 Intermezzo now operates with offices in New York and Connecticut. Director Mitchell Piper has had an extensive career both as a performer, producer and educator. Filippo Anselmi, the Senior Artist Manager is widely recognized as one of the most creative and talented artist mangers in our profession.
Intermezzo Young Artist Program offers vocal, theatrical and linguistic training to over 100 young singers each year. Participants perform in staged operatic and musical theater productions, vocal recitals and master classes and receive daily vocal lessons, repertoire coachings, language classes and managerial workshops. Since our establishment in 2001 Intermezzo has produced over 20 fully staged operas and musicals, and has provided over 400 young artists more than $500,000.00 in scholarships, awards and grants. Young Artist Programs were first established in Windsor, Connecticut and have continued to serve performing artists in various locations throughout the world, including Hartford, Connecticut, West Palm Beach and Tampa, Florida, Brugge Belgium and our current festival location in Portland, Maine. >>LEARN MORE
